It all began from the courage of a young goldsmith, Gastone Bettinardi. It is 1977, we are in the goldsmith district of Vicenza in the years immediately preceding the economic boom, and he decides to stake everything on his skill and ingenuity by establishing his own handicraft company, Bettinardi Gastone. In those years, the city of Vicenza was the catalyst for the whole world of goldsmithing that was developing in Italy, and which was in full expansion on all European markets.
At the beginning, the company was a workshop, set up at home, where people worked passionately and tirelessly to produce gold watches. These were the years when a luxury and valuable watch was an established status symbol, and customers were becoming increasingly demanding and sophisticated.

In the 1980s, the company was transformed into Bettinardi Srl with the entry of his children Silvio and Sara. The young Silvio Bettinardi was only 22 years old when he set out to conquer the US market and Bettinardi Srl made its name as a watch factory with innovative, quality products, high-quality watches meeting the needs of the international public. In those years, Bettinardi managed to gain a foothold in the jewel watch market. Its refined but never too exuberant designs, its production of handcrafted watches paying painstaking attention to every single piece handcrafted by its artisans, its customer care and after-sales service, make its products grow and spread.
Since 2020 the company has been managed by Silvio Bettinardi with the collaboration of his daughter Marta, who represents the third generation of watchmakers. With her language studies and a degree in Oriental languages, the gauntlet is in Marta’s hands. She is successfully exploring the Middle and Far Eastern markets and branching out into corporate watches. With the same courage and responsibility as in the beginnings.
